Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

MTV featured New Look Laser Tattoo Removal last night on its reality show True Life. The episode was call “I Hate My Tattoo,” and New Look’s Family Nurse Practitioner Lynette Kennedy was seen giving a consultation to a patient wanting tattoo removal. It showed an actual laser tattoo removal procedure as well. This is a great way to learn more about tattoo removal; how wide-spread it is, how important it can be in people’s lives, and how easy it is. The next showing of the episode will be on Wednesday, Sept 9th at 7PM. It will also eventually be posted on MTV’s webpage and we will post a link to make it easier to access.

Can you remove an entire tattoo? What if I only want a small portion removed?

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

We can remove your entire tattoo. Some colors are easier to remove than others but given enough treatments we entire tattoos be removed every day. Take a look at our before and after pictures to get an idea of what our laser can do for you.

What if I only want a portion of my tattoo removed? That is not a problem. We often have clients that only want lettering removed from their tattoo or want certain colors removed. We can do that. There is actually an example of someone who wanted certain colors removed from his tattoo on our before and after page that you should take a look at.

Remember black and red are the easiest colors to remove 100% of the way and green and blue are the hardest and may never remove completely but will certainly be faded. Come in for a complimentary consultation and we can give you a good estimate on how many treatments it will take to remove your tattoo and how well the treatment will work for you.

How Does a Tattoo Removal Laser Remove Your Ink?

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

Tattoo removal lasers work by directing specific wavelengths of light towards a tattoo. The ink in a tattoo absorbs certain wavelengths of light that fits its absorption pattern. Here’s an example of how color really works – when light shines upon a red apple, what colors are reflected and what colors are absorbed? All colors are absorbed except red, which is reflected and seen by the viewer. With a tattoo removal laser, wavelengths that are absorbed well by tattoo ink (and less so by things in the skin that we want to ignore) are used for certain colors – whether the tattoo ink be green, red, black, purple, or orange. When the absorption occurs, the tattoo ink heats up – imagine your body absorbing the sunlight and feeling warmer. Because of the extremely fast pulse of a tattoo removal laser – several billionths of a second – the tattoo ink heats up very quickly, causing it to shatter.

Once the ink is shattered it is easier for your body to remove it – like it would any other foreign particle. It takes a number of sessions to remove tattoos, but we can remove most colors of tattoo ink here at New Look Laser Tattoo Removal, the specialist in laser tattoo removal in Austin, Texas.
